Truth Social, the social network owned by former President Donald Trump, surpassed Twitter in ranking as the best free app in Apple’s app store. SpaceX CEO and new Twitter owner Elon Musk tweeted,

“Truth Social is currently outperforming Twitter and TikTok in Apple Store,” Musk tweeted, quickly receiving “likes” from more than 372,000,000 users.

And he proved it, sharing the apps page of the iOS app store, AppFigures.com, which shows Truth Social in the number one spot of best Apps, ahead of Twitter and TikTok.

Elon Musk, who always advocated for freedom of speech, recently bought Twitter for $44 billion and promised to free the social network from censorship, tweeting,

“By “freedom of speech,” I simply mean that which conforms to the law. I am against censorship that goes far beyond the law. If people want less freedom of speech, they will ask the government to pass laws to that effect. Therefore, going beyond the law is contrary to the will of the people.”

Truth Social, a social network founded by Trump Media & Technology Group, emerged after former President Donald Trump was censored and permanently banned from Twitter and the Big Tech group. According to Fox News, it has become the most credible social network after its launch in February.

On April 22, 2022, Truth Social made headlines for migrating to Rumble, a censorship-free cloud. PRNewswire reported Truth Social is the first social networking platform to switch clouds in favor of free speech.

“Yesterday, Truth Social and Rumble took a big step toward rescuing the Internet from the clutches of Big Tech tyrants. Our teams have worked tirelessly to deliver this great effort. Rumble’s cloud infrastructure is second to none and will be the backbone for the restoration of free speech online for ages to come,” Devin Nunes, TMTG’s CEO, told PRNewswire.

“Big Tech can’t write us off. We don’t trust any technological tyrants and we really run Rumble Cloud the way we are running it. This is the future for taking on woke companies”, Nunes said in an interview with Fox News.

The new free social network is available only to the United States. However, it proved to be among the most anticipated by social network users. According to Variety, it was at the top of the free app download rankings in Apple’s App Store since its launch on Feb. 20, just 12 hours after its debut.

Truth Social’s mission is to “foster open, free and honest global conversation without discriminating against political ideology,” its website says.
